Conditional Loan Approval – Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: June 6, 2022

These Conditional Loan Approval Terms and Conditions shall supplement the Tala Account Terms and Conditions and the Tala Credit Advance Terms and Conditions, and shall govern the Conditional Loan Approval offered by Tala Financing Philippines Inc. (“Tala”) to users of the Tala Account who meet the eligibility criteria and who have not previously received a loan approval from Tala.

By your continued use of the Tala Account, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to abide by these Conditional Loan Approval Terms & Conditions as may be amended or varied from time to time. Amendments or variations thereto take effect on their date of publication. Tala will take all reasonable measures to notify you of any such changes. You may discontinue your use of the Tala Account at any time, but please note that doing so may make you ineligible for the Conditional Loan Approval offered by Tala.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for pre-approval on your first Tala loan, you must have an active Tala Account and keep a minimum balance of PHP 25 for at least 1 day. Your eligibility will begin after 1 day and will continue as long as you maintain a minimum balance of PHP 25 (the “Eligibility Period”) in your Tala Account. If the balance of your Tala Account falls below PHP 25, the Eligibility Period will end, and the 1-day count will restart.

Availability and Use

The Conditional Loan Approval is subject to Tala’s background checks and ID verification process, and you must have a valid ID acceptable to Tala1 in order to claim your offer.  You must complete the disbursement (cash out) of your approved loan within the Eligibility Period in order for the Conditional Loan Approval to apply.

You understand and agree that your eligibility for the Conditional Loan Approval applies to your first Tala loan only and does not guarantee that you will receive approval for succeeding Tala loans that you may request. You must repay your Tala loans on time to continue accessing loans from Tala and qualify for higher limits. This offer is non-transferable and is not convertible to other benefits.

About the Tala Account

The Tala Account is powered by UnionBank and EON and is regulated by the BSP. It is an electronic money product that does not earn interest, rewards, or similar incentives convertible to cash. It is understood that the Conditional Loan Approval offer is extended by Tala separately to users who wish to avail of the Tala loan product, and that it is not considered interest, reward, or similar incentive convertible to cash.
