At Tala, we believe that financial education is for everyone—no matter your background, age, or income level. That’s why we created TALAkayan, our award-winning financial education program designed to make personal finance simple, practical, and relatable for the everyday Filipino.
In partnership with Empower and Transform (EAT), TALAkayan has helped over 1,200 participants across 13 workshops in the Philippines and even in Singapore. From sari-sari store owners and farmers to factory workers and OFWs, these workshops have opened up new conversations around saving, budgeting, debt management, and investing—empowering participants to take control of their financial journeys.
Now, we’re bringing those lessons to even more Filipinos—online.
Starting this August, Tala Philippines is launching a weekly financial literacy video series across our social media platforms. The content is inspired by our most asked questions during TALAkayan workshops and created to be easy to follow, jargon-free, and actionable. Each video will tackle a timely topic—from viral saving challenges and inflation hacks to understanding credit scores, retirement planning, and how to make smarter money moves.
The launch of this digital series was kicked off during a special TALAkayan workshop last July 8, 2025, joined by bloggers, influencers, and media partners. The session was led by financial literacy advocate Salve Ibañez, who walked the group through real-life tools for setting goals, budgeting, managing debt, and building long-term wealth.

Salve reminded everyone that, “You are not defined by when you started in your financial journey, but by the steps you take to move forward.”
That’s the heart of TALAkayan: to show that it’s never too early—or too late—to take charge of your finances.
“Money management and other financial skills aren’t always taught in school, but they’re essential in building a fairer playing field. Through TALAkayan, we hope to make financial education more accessible and more human,” said Missy Santos, Marketing Director of Tala Philippines. From interactive community workshops to bite-sized online videos, Tala is committed to helping Filipinos build stronger financial futures. Because when people are empowered with knowledge, they make better financial decisions—and that changes everything.
