Tala Rewards – Promo Mechanics

Eligibility for the rewards program

To qualify for the rewards program, a user must have:

  • the latest version of the Tala App;
  • created a user account on the Tala App; and
  • applied for and been approved for the Tala Account, the electronic money instrument powered by UnionBank, separate from the Tala user account.

How points are earned

Points can be earned by completing a variety of tasks that are tied to responsible savings, borrowing, and transactional behavior. These tasks include, but are not limited to, objectives that will encourage the following behaviors:

  • Loan repayment
  • Bill payment through the Tala app
  • Depositing into their Tala account
  • Creating savings goals
  • Reaching a certain balance in their Tala account

Through the Tala App, users will be able to view which tasks are available to you. Each task will have a corresponding number of points depending on the difficulty, and the user will receive the points within one (1) day after completing the task.

The available tasks are customized and may vary depending on the user’s behaviors and preferences on the Tala App. Tala reserves the right to add, remove, or modify tasks without prior notice to the user. 

Points earned shall be non-transferable and can only be redeemed for rewards on the Tala App.

How points are redeemed

Users can redeem their points within the Tala App by tapping on one of the many available reward icons. Each reward has an associated points cost and users can only claim a reward if their point balance is equal to or greater than the cost of the reward. Upon redemption of these points, their point balance will decrease by the cost of the reward.

The available rewards are also customized and may vary depending on the user’s behavior and preferences on the Tala App. Tala reserves the right to add, remove, or modify rewards without prior notice to the user. 

Validity of points

All earned points will be valid for the duration of this promo. Tala reserves the right to disqualify a user from the rewards program in the event that a user is found to have breached the Tala App User Agreement or the Tala Account Terms and Conditions.
