Legal
Action

We don’t just block scammers; we take legal action against them. In partnership with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), we have filed cases against over 70 individuals pretending to be “Tala agents.” These crimes carry heavy fines and penalties of up to six years in prison. We also maintain open communication channels with regulators, including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and other relevant authorities.

How You Can Protect Yourself

Fraud prevention is a shared responsibility. Your awareness is one of the strongest defenses against scams. Follow these essential tips to stay safe:

🛡️ Stick to the Official App

Only submit your information through the official Tala app.
Tala does not use “verifiers” or “assistant agents.” Remember: providing false information or forged documents in an application is against the law.

🔑 Never Share Sensitive Info

A legitimate Tala agent will never ask for your PIN, OTP, or birthdate via text message, phone call, or messaging apps and sharing these codes can give scammers access to your account. Always keep these details private.

📱 Use Official Channels Only

Scammers may impersonate Tala on messaging apps and social media. Stay safe by using only our official channels (http://tala.ph and http://facebook.com/talaphilippines). We may send notifications via SMS, WhatsApp, or Viber, but we never process loans or provide support through DMs.

🚩 Spot the Red Flags

Applying for a Tala loan is 100% free. Tala does not charge assist fees, application fees, or membership fees. If someone asks you to send money to “help” approve,
speed up, or process your loan, it is a scam.

Be wary of anyone promising “no repayment.”
If it sounds like a trick, it probably is.
